You may have been worried that we have gone away. Far from it.
Actually, we are literally staying put for a bit to build up resources to go back out on
the road. (Hey, a "job" is just what you do between trips, right?)
We are travelers at heart and that means that when we are sitting still, we are thinking about traveling. We are thinking about trips past. We are looking around our neighborhoods for something interesting to do. Being a tourist in your hometown can be a bunch of fun. We are dreaming of new roads to navigate, new places to see and new friends to meet. Dreaming of trips can be stimulated by travel guides, magazines and books as well as just plain ole imagination.
With that in mind, over the next few days we will be posting articles about our trip to the Crazy Horse Memorial in the Summer of 2000, the beautiful street sculpture exhibit finishing up this month in Mesa, Arizona, a survey of our fantasy vacations, a review of Unconventional Means by Anne Williams and a review of The Global Soul by Pico Iyer, both of which have inspired us to expand our travel horizons and a review of a great "inclusive travel" website called, RollingRains published by Scott Rains, a great bloke from down under. Of course, we will also post new columns for "Life in the Unit" and "Accommodations."
Thanks for your patience and come back frequently to catch the latest.
We have Ample Escapades© to create as we travel the good red road! If you do as well, then join our new traveler's forum, Ample Escapades© and write about your journeys.
Our hope for the forum is that together we can create a collection of stories, tips and data that will help make room for everyone who wants to travel. We also hope that a groundswell of consumer advocacy can result from this collection.
We have buying power! All we need is to pool our resources and show the travel, tourism and hospitality industry that if they want our money, they should make room for everyone.
